Tension between India and China has remained at its peak since 2020. More than 20 military talks between the two countries for peace along the Line of Actual Control have also failed. In such a situation, tension between the two countries is at its peak. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar gave a big statement regarding the long-running military standoff in Eastern Ladakh. Jaishankar on Saturday said China should abide by border management agreements and there should be an atmosphere of peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to improve India-China relations. He said that unless China follows this agreement, peace on the border is not possible.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in an interactive session at a ‘think tank’ that the Modi government is focusing on boosting infrastructure on the border. During this, he said that there should be balance in the relations between India and China. Answering a broader question on dealing with China, Jaishankar said India has not used international relations as effectively as it could have in the past. But now the present government is not showing any negligence in this. The External Affairs Minister underlined the need for India to become a strong country in various sectors, including the areas of technology and supply chain, to effectively counter the challenges emanating from China.
China will have to follow the agreement
Tension between India and China is at its peak after the Galwan Valley violence. Meanwhile, military talks took place several times between the two countries and both sides reduced the gathering of troops on the border. Despite this, no solution has been found yet for lasting peace. Jaishankar said, “There should be a balance and there should be peace in the border areas, the agreements that have been reached have to be followed.”(Language)
