Houthi attackers captured by US Navy

Israel Hamas War: The US Navy has captured armed attackers who seized an Israeli-owned tanker off the coast of Yemen on Sunday and abandoned it. The officers provided this information. Two ballistic missiles fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen hit a US warship escorting a tanker in the Gulf of Aden. This attack was carried out at a time when attacks on ships continue amid the Israel-Hamas war.

no damage to the ship

Zodiac Maritime, which manages the vessel, said on Monday that the Central Park vessel carrying phosphoric acid was undamaged and all 22 crew members were safe. These include citizens of Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Philippines, Russia, Turkey and Vietnam. London-based Zodiac Maritime is part of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group.

Yemen held Houthi rebels responsible

Yemen’s internationally recognized government blamed Iran-backed Houthi rebels for the attack, but the rebels, who control the country’s capital Sanaa, have not yet claimed responsibility for the interception of the ship or the missile attack. Zodiac Maritime, US and British forces and private intelligence firm Embrey said the attackers had captured the Liberian-flagged Central Park vessel in the Gulf of Aden.

American army gave a befitting reply

The US military’s Central Command said in a statement on Monday morning that its forces and allies, including the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Mason, responded to the attackers’ actions and asked them to abandon the tanker. “Five armed assailants then disembarked the ship and attempted to escape in their small boat but Mason pursued the assailants resulting in their eventual surrender,” the Central Command said.

The identity of the attackers is not revealed

The Central Command did not reveal the identity of the attackers, but said a missile was fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen early Monday. A statement from US Central Command said the missiles fell into the sea about 10 miles (16 kilometers) from the ships. “The missile was fired when USS Mason was taking rescue action after M/V Central Park reported being in danger,” Central Command said. It said no casualties were reported in the incident. There was no damage to the vessel and no casualties. London-based Zodiac Maritime is part of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group.
