Smith stayed in that hotel from September 2 to September 4, 2019.

While questioning Smith about the Marriott case, authorities also learned of Abouchuk’s murder. His wife, Stephanie Bisland, who lives in Anchorage, and his sister in South Africa have declined to comment about the lawsuit. The trial is likely to begin on Monday and last three to four weeks.
