Ranchi: ED has once again sent summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. In the summons, Soren has been asked to tell when and at what place he will be available for questioning between January 29 and January 31. The agency has told Soren that if he does not appear before the summons, its team will itself approach him. Let us inform that ED had interrogated Soren for about 7 hours on January 20 at his residence in a case related to money laundering in the purchase and sale of about 8.46 acres of land in Badagain area of ​​Ranchi.
ED has arrested one and a half dozen people
ED wants to further inquire on many more points in this case of land buying and selling. Let us tell you that this is the 10th summons to Soren from the agency. Before this, on January 22, the ninth summons was sent to him and he was asked to fix the time for questioning between January 27 and 31. In response, Soren had written a letter to the agency on January 25 citing his busy schedule. Soren had not made it clear in this letter as to when he would be available for questioning. In this case, the agency has already arrested one and a half dozen people including IAS Chhavi Ranjan.
Soren was interrogated at home on January 20
In the case of land scam of Badgai area, ED had sent the first summons to Soren asking him to appear on 14 August 2023. Soren had given a written reply to this and did not appear, calling the summons illegal. Even after this the agency continued sending summons to him. Soren also went to the Supreme Court and High Court against the ED summons, but he did not get relief. Ultimately, on the eighth summons of ED, he agreed to be available for questioning on January 20 and then the agency team reached his residence and interrogated him. (IANS)
