Congress has got a big victory in Telangana. Congress crossed the majority mark. At the same time, BRS, which is in power in the state, seems to be limited to 37-39 seats. While Congress performed better in Telangana, BJP also won more seats than expected. Amidst all this, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM, one of the most flamboyant MPs of the country, has suffered a major setback. Congress and BJP have defeated AIMIM in this election.
“We respect the public’s decision”
Owaisi’s party, which had won unilaterally on seats in and around the Hyderabad region, suffered a loss. Owaisi’s party has won six seats, while it is leading on one seat. AIMIM had won 7 seats in the 2018 assembly elections, while this time the party had presented candidature on 9 seats. Regarding the election results, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, “The people of Telangana have taken a decision and we should respect it. In the last 10 years, there has been development in Telangana under the leadership of KCR, but we respect the decision of the people. “I am thankful to the public for making us win on 7 seats. We will work on our shortcomings and introspect.”
Congress won 64 seats in Telangana
It is noteworthy that out of 119 assembly seats of Telangana, till the time of writing the results have come for 117 seats. Congress has won 64 seats. At the same time, BRS has won 38 seats and is leading on one seat. Apart from this, BJP has won 8 seats. AIMIM has won 6 seats and is leading in one seat, while CPI has won one seat.
