Government called an all-party meeting before the winter session of Parliament, these leaders were present

New Delhi: The winter session of Parliament is going to begin from Monday, ahead of which leaders of political parties are meeting here on Saturday to discuss the agenda of the winter session. This meeting has been called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and it was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Gaurav Gogoi and Pramod Tiwari, Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Fauzia Khan. And other senior leaders including RSP leader NK Premachandran are participating.

When will the winter session start?

The winter session of Parliament will begin from December 4 and will continue till December 22 in which 15 meetings will be held. In this session, drafts of major bills are expected to be discussed, including three bills to replace colonial-era criminal laws. A report of a Lok Sabha committee on the matter of ‘asking questions while taking money’ is also listed to be presented in the House on Monday, the first day of the session. In this report, it has been recommended to expel Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra from the lower house.

Let us tell you that currently there are 37 bills pending in Parliament, out of which 12 are listed for consideration and passing, and seven bills are scheduled for introduction, consideration and passing. These include three bills to replace colonial-era criminal laws – the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Evidence Act. (input language)
