India TV Poll: What is the reason behind Congress’s massive defeat in three states?

India TV Poll: The results of the assembly elections held in all five states have come. BJP has won a bumper victory in these three states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. By registering victory in Telangana, Congress has eased its pain to some extent. Power has slipped from his hands in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. BJP has snatched the power of these two states from Congress. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, BJP retained its power and gave a crushing defeat to Congress. Now there is discussion going on within the Congress over defeat. What is the reason behind Congress’s massive defeat in three states? India TV took the pulse of the public through its poll, on which shocking answers were received.

Reason for Congress’s defeat

In our poll we had asked the public, ‘What is the reason behind the crushing defeat of Congress in three states?’ For this, we had given four options to the public – ‘overconfidence’, ‘wrong ticket distribution’, ‘personal attacks on Modi’ and ‘other reasons’. The public participated enthusiastically in this poll. We got a chance to know the opinions of a total of 30,386 people. Most of the people in this poll said that personal attacks on Modi were the reason for Congress’s bad defeat.

How was the result of the poll in statistics?

Talking about the figures, a total of 30,386 people took part in this voting. Most of them, i.e. 59 percent, believed that Congress lost due to personal attacks on PM Modi. At the same time, about 25 percent people believed that overconfidence was the reason for Congress’s bad defeat. Whereas 8 percent people cited wrong ticket distribution as the reason for Congress’s bad defeat. The remaining 8 percent people chose the option of ‘other reasons’.
