Weather News Today: The weather pattern has changed in North India due to severe cold and fog. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rain in many parts of the country till February 21. According to the Meteorological Department, during the next 24 hours, there will be light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at isolated places over Bihar-Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of lightning.

At the same time, there may be sporadic heavy rain at different places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh on February 18. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayan region during February 17-21. Apart from this, sporadic rain has been predicted in the plains of North-West India during 18-21 February.

Many states of the country are experiencing severe cold in the morning and evening. The minimum temperature is being recorded around 10 degrees Celsius in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh. The lowest minimum temperature recorded in Amritsar in the last 24 hours was 5.5 degrees Celsius. Whereas Karnal recorded 5.9 degrees.

The weather department has predicted dense fog conditions over isolated parts of Bihar and Jharkhand on February 15 and 16 and over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha in the morning hours on February 15. Apart from this, dense fog is also being seen in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Odisha in the morning. Fog can be seen here during the next 24 hours also.
