New Delhi: This time the main Republic Day parade in Delhi is going to be different from every other time in many ways. Major General Sumit Mehta said on Tuesday that for the first time an all-women tri-services contingent will take part in the Republic Day Parade, which will include women contingents of the Army’s Military Police as well as women from the other two services. Various new generation vehicles including terrain vehicles, light vehicles and special mobility vehicles will participate in the parade. ALH Dhruv Rudra and LCH Prachanda will participate in the flypast. The flypast of the Indian Air Force will include 51 aircraft including fighter aircraft, helicopters and transport aircraft. There will be 15 women in the plane. He said that the main attractions would include invocation by blowing conch shells. French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations.
13,000 special guests were invited
This year the participation of women is very high. Around 13,000 special guests have also been invited to witness the parade this year. It aims to provide an opportunity to people from all walks of life to participate in the national celebration, in line with the government’s vision of public participation.
