This former Prime Minister will not contest Lok Sabha elections, said- ‘Now I am 90 years old’

Bengaluru: Political parties have started preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, Janata Dal (Secular) chief and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has refused to contest the Lok Sabha elections. He said that he is 90 years old, hence he will not contest the elections. However, he will definitely campaign in favor of the candidates in the elections.

‘No decision yet on Kumaraswamy contesting Lok Sabha elections’

Speaking to the media, Deve Gowda said, “I am not contesting elections. I am 90 years old now. Whatever seats we get, wherever necessary, I will go there. I have the power to speak and the memory power.” I will campaign with it.” Regarding JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy contesting the Lok Sabha elections, the former Prime Minister said that no decision has been taken yet.

JDS had joined NDA in September last year

Let us tell you that JD(S) had joined the BJP-led NDA in September last year after former Chief Minister and Deve Gowda’s son Kumaraswamy met Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda in New Delhi. After which both the parties had agreed to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections together.
