Dr. Mohan Bhagwat expressed his views before Ramlala’s consecration.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has expressed his views through an article before the consecration of Lord Ram. In the article, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has talked about the 1500 years old history of Ram temple till today’s occasion of consecration. Along with this, he has also stressed on the need for the people of India to move forward in some way in view of the situation in the world today. Along with this, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has also appealed to create discipline in social life by citing the example of Lord Ram’s exile.

What did Dr. Mohan Bhagwat write?

Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has written that, the history of our India is the history of continuous struggle against the invaders for the last one and a half thousand years. The purpose of early invasions was to plunder and sometimes (like Alexander’s invasions) to establish a kingdom. But the attacks from the West in the name of Islam only brought complete destruction and isolation of the society. To demoralize the country and society, it was necessary to destroy their religious places, hence the foreign invaders also destroyed the temples in India. He did this not once, but many times. Their aim was to demoralize the Indian society so that the Indians would become permanently weak and they could rule over them unhindered.

The demolition of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya was also done with the same intention and for the same purpose. This policy of the invaders was not limited to just Ayodhya or any one temple, but was for the entire world.

Indian rulers never attacked anyone, but the rulers of the world have done such misdeeds by being aggressive for the expansion of their kingdom. But it did not have the effect on India that they had hoped for. On the contrary, in India, the faith, loyalty and morale of the society never diminished, the society did not bow down, their struggle of resistance continued. For this reason, continuous efforts were made to take control of the birthplace and build a temple there. There were many wars, struggles and sacrifices for him. And the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi remained in the minds of Hindus.

In the year 1857, when war plans started being made against the foreign power i.e. the British power, Hindus and Muslims together showed readiness to fight against them and then there was mutual exchange of ideas between them. At that time, a situation was created in which there would be a reconciliation on the issue of banning cow slaughter and liberation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. Bahadur Shah Zafar also included a ban on cow slaughter in his manifesto. Therefore all societies fought together. Indians showed bravery in that war but unfortunately this war failed, and India did not get independence, British rule remained uninterrupted, but the struggle for Ram Temple did not stop.

According to the policy of “Divide and Rule” of the British among Hindu Muslims, which was already in practice and became more and more strict according to the nature of this country. To break the unity, the British hanged the heroes of the struggle in Ayodhya and the question of liberation of Ram Janmabhoomi remained the same. The struggle for Ram temple continued.

After the country gained independence in 1947, when the Somnath temple was unanimously renovated, the discussion about such temples started. All such consensus could have been considered regarding the liberation of Ram Janmabhoomi, but the direction of politics changed. Forms of selfish politics like discrimination and appeasement started becoming prevalent and hence the question remained as such. The governments did not even consider the wishes and sentiments of the Hindu society on this issue. On the contrary, he tried to destroy the initiative taken by the society. The legal battle related to this, which had been going on since pre-independence, continued. The mass movement for the liberation of Ram Janmabhoomi began in the 1980s and continued for thirty years.

In the year 1949, the idol of Lord Shri Ramchandra appeared at Ram Janmabhoomi. In 1986, the lock of the temple was opened by court order. In the coming period, the continuous struggle of the Hindu society continued through many campaigns and kar seva. In 2010, the decision of Allahabad High Court clearly came before the society. Further insistence had to be continued to resolve the issue through a final decision as soon as possible. On 9 November 2019, after 134 years of legal struggle, the Supreme Court gave a balanced decision after examining the truth and facts. The feelings and facts of both the parties were also considered in this decision. This decision has been given after hearing the arguments of all the parties in the court. According to this decision, a board of trustees was established for the construction of the temple. Bhoomi Pujan of the temple took place on 5 August 2020 and now Paush Shukla Dwadashi Yugabd 5125, accordingly the installation and consecration ceremony of the idol of Shri Ramlala has been organized on 22 January 2024.

From the religious point of view, Shri Ram is the worshipable god of the majority of the society and the life of Shri Ramchandra is still an ideal of conduct accepted by the entire society. Therefore, now the unnecessary controversy that has arisen between the opposition and the parties should be ended. The bitterness that has arisen in the meantime should also end. The enlightened people of the society must see that the dispute ends completely. Ayodhya means ‘where there is no war’, ‘a place free from conflict’, that city is like this. For this reason, reconstruction of Ayodhya is the need of the day in the entire country and it is also the duty of all of us.

The occasion of construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya marks the renaissance of national pride. This is the acceptance of India’s vision of life of dignity of conduct by the modern Indian society. Lord Shri Ram is to be worshiped in the temple by the method of ‘Patram Pushpam Falam Toyam’ and also by establishing the darshan of Ram in the mind and adopting ideal conduct in the light of the temple, Lord Shri Ram has to be worshiped because “Shivo Bhootva Shivam Bhajet Ramo Bhootva Ram Bhajet”. This is called true worship.

If we think from this point of view then according to the social nature of Indian culture-

Matravat Pardareshu, Pardravyeshu Loshtvat.

Atmavat sarvabhuteshu, yah pasyati sah panditah.

In this way we too will have to follow the path of Shri Ram. Integrity in life, forgiveness with strength and bravery, politeness and humility, gentleness in dealing with everyone, mildness of heart and strictness towards oneself in performing duties etc., everyone should emulate the qualities of Shri Ram in their life and in their family. Efforts to bring it into everyone’s life will have to be made with honesty, dedication and hard work.

Also, considering our national life, discipline will have to be created in social life also. We know that Shri Ram-Lakshman had completed their 14 years of exile and successful fight with the powerful Ravana on the strength of the same discipline. Justice and compassion, harmony, fairness, social virtues reflected in the character of Shri Ram, once again pervading the society, building a manly society based on equal justice without exploitation, endowed with strength as well as compassion, this is the character of Shri Ram. There will be puja.

Due to ego, selfishness and discrimination, this world is in a frenzy of destruction and is bringing infinite calamities upon itself. The all-beneficial and ‘Sarvesham Aavrodhi’ campaign of reconstruction of Jagdabhiram Bharatvarsha, which shows the path of harmony, unity, progress and peace, is going to start with the entry of Shri Ram Lalla in Ram Janmabhoomi and his life consecration. We are active implementers of that campaign. All of us have resolved to bring to completion the reconstruction of the temple as well as the reconstruction of India and hence the entire world in the devotional celebration of 22 January. Move forward by establishing this feeling in your heart… Jai Siya Ram.
