Recipe to make Urad Dal Khichdi

  1. To make urad dal khichdi, add 2-3 spoons of ghee in the cooker and heat it.

  2. Add cumin, asafoetida, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper and black cardamom and fry on low flame.

  3. When the spices are lightly roasted, add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and green peas and fry.

  4. After tomatoes melt, add turmeric and mix urad dal and rice in it.

  5. Now add red chilli and salt and mix all the spices and pulses and rice.

  6. Fry it lightly for 2 minutes and then add 1.5 cups of water to the cooker and close it.

  7. Let it come on high flame for 1 whistle and then switch on 1 whistle to medium flame.

  9. Mix some green coriander in it and take it out in a serving plate.
