4 changes in the team for Ireland series, Punjab Kings player made captain

Zimbabwe Cricket Team: Zimbabwe team could not qualify for T20 World Cup 2024. The team had to face defeat against Uganda. For this reason the team was left behind. Now Zimbabwe has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches against Ireland. Now Zimbabwe’s team has been announced for the T20 series against Ireland. Sikandar Raza has been made the captain of the team. 15 players have got a chance in the team.

Four changes in the team

There have been four changes to the Zimbabwe team after failing to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024. The uncapped pair of middle order batsman Brian Bennett and fast bowler Trevor Guandou has been included in the team. Where leg spinner Brandon Mavuta and batsman Tony Munyonga have been recalled. The selectors have also left out fast bowler Tendai Chatara and spinner Wellington Masakadja as well as opening batsmen Innocent Kaiya and Nick Welch. Sikandar Raza has been made the captain of the team. He plays for Punjab Kings in IPL. He scored 139 runs in 7 matches of IPL 2023 and took three wickets.

These players also got place

Experienced batsman Craig Erwin was out due to a groin muscle strain. But he is fit now and has got a place in the team. He played only one match in 6 matches of the Africa Region Qualifier. Apart from this, Sean Williams, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani and Ryan Burl have also been included in the team. Three T20 matches between Zimbabwe and Ireland are scheduled to be played at the Harare Sports Club on 7, 9 and 10 December.

7 December: Zimbabwe v Ireland – 1st T20I (Harare; kick-off 1pm)

9 December: Zimbabwe v Ireland – 2nd T20I (Harare; kick-off 1pm)

10 December: Zimbabwe vs Ireland – 3rd T20I (Harare; kick-off 1pm)
