For this reason Shivam Dubey has been chosen as the vice-captain.
Strong performance against Uttar Pradesh
Shivam Dubey had performed amazingly for Mumbai team against Uttar Pradesh. He scored four runs in the first innings and 117 runs in the second innings. Apart from this, he also showed his strength in bowling and took three wickets in his name. But he could not make the team win. Uttar Pradesh coach Raju Kulkarni said that Shivam has proved himself by performing well. Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane was injured in the match against Uttar Pradesh, due to which he did not field on the last day. But the team management is hopeful of his being fit in the match against Bengal.

Shivam Dubey has so far scored 276 runs for Team India in 21 T20 matches at an average of 39.42. Apart from this he has also taken 8 wickets. He had a very strong performance in the series against Afghanistan. He also received the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his excellent performance.
