After being sentenced to 10 years in the ‘Sifar’ case, he has now been sentenced to 14 years in jail. This severe punishment of 14 years has been given to Imran Khan along with his wife. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a special court in Rawalpindi. The court has sentenced him to 14 years in the Toshakhana case. In this regard, former Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s wife and ex-husband Khawar Farid Maneka had filed a complaint against both of them on November 25, 2023, accusing them of adultery and fraudulent marriage. According to the Panel Code of Pakistan, the case against 71-year-old Imran Khan and 49-year-old Bushra Bibi was going on in the court of Senior Advocate Civil Judge Qudartullah of Islamabad East under various sections, where this sentence was pronounced.
Announcement of punishment before elections is a big blow for Imran’s party.
Earlier, PTI founders Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were given 10-year jail sentence in the Cipher case. Judge Abdul Hasnat Zulkarnain of the special court hearing the case had given this decision on Tuesday. Imran Khan is currently lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail and the verdict in this case was pronounced there.
This decision of first 10 years imprisonment and now 14 years imprisonment in the second case is being considered as a big blow for Imran Khan who is already in jail. General elections are to be held in Pakistan on February 8, before which this punishment is no less than a deep blow to the election preparations of Imran’s party.
