Iyer remembered his days spent in Pakistan
In the latest case, Iyer praised Pakistanis during the Faiz Mahotsav in Alhamra, Lahore on Saturday. According to Pakistani media, Iyer said that when he was posted as Consul General in Karachi, everyone extended hospitality to him and his wife. During the event the Congress leader suggested that businessmen, students and academics should continue to meet outside India and Pakistan, bypassing the governments of both the countries.
According to Pakistani newspaper The Dawn, Iyer said, ‘In my experience, Pakistanis are such people who overreact to the other side. If we are friendly, they are more friendly. If we act hostile, they become even more hostile.’ During this, he also strongly criticized the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.
Mani Shankar Aiyar’s daughter had kept a fast in protest against Ram temple!
