Instead of ceasefire in Gaza, Israel is now going to end the war itself, know why

There have been more than 22 thousand deaths in Gaza in the Israel-Hamas war. All countries have been demanding a ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel is not ready for it. However, now Israel has indicated to end the war completely instead of a ceasefire. However, this will not be a complete end to the war. Right now the Israeli army can end the war only in northern Gaza. As the war against Hamas enters its fourth month, the Israeli Army has also indicated this. The IDF says it has ended major fighting in northern Gaza and has completed the destruction of Hamas military infrastructure there.

Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said late Saturday that the army would continue to advance there, strengthening security along the Israel-Gaza border fence and focusing on the central and southern parts of the territory. The announcement came ahead of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Israel. US officials, including Blinken, have repeatedly urged Israel to reduce its heavy-handed air and ground offensive in Gaza and launch more targeted strikes against Hamas leaders to prevent further harm to Palestinian civilians. The war was triggered by Hamas’ October 7 attack on southern Israel in which the extremists killed about 1,200 people and took about 250 hostage.

More than 22 thousand deaths so far in Gaza

According to the health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza, Israel’s retaliation killed more than 22,700 Palestinians and injured more than 58,000. Health officials say about two-thirds of those killed were women and minors. On Sunday, the bodies of 18 people, including 12 children, were brought to Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis. These people were killed in an Israeli attack late Saturday night. More than 50 people were wounded in an attack on a house in the Khan Yunis refugee camp, which was established decades ago to shelter refugees from the 1948 war in West Asia that led to the creation of Israel.

Israeli forces also moved deep into the central city of Deir al-Balah, where leaflets dropped from planes on Saturday warned people to evacuate their homes. The international organization Doctors Without Borders, known as MSF, said it was evacuating its medical workers and their families from Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital in Deir al-Balah due to the increasing threat. Military spokesman Hagari said Israeli forces would act differently in the south than in northern Gaza, where heavy bombardment and ground fighting destroyed entire cities. (AP)
