Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have easily secured majority in the newly elected Parliament of Pakistan. Both parties have unanimously chosen Shehbaz Sharif as the Prime Ministerial candidate. This is the second time that Shehbaz Sharif has been chosen as Prime Minister to lead the coalition government. Before the general elections in Pakistan, there was talk of making his brother Nawaz Sharif the Prime Minister, but it is being said that the Pakistani Army put such a condition before Nawaz that Shahbaz got a chance to become the Prime Minister for the second time.

Let us tell you that Shahbaz Sharif is the younger brother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Now he has become the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the second consecutive time. Shehbaz, 72, has been unanimously elected as the candidate from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He has secured 201 votes in the 336-member House.

PTI leader got only 92 votes

Shahbaz’s rival and jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan had also declared Omar Ayub Khan as the prime ministerial candidate on behalf of his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), but he got only 92 votes in the 336-member House. So to receive. While independent supporters of PTI have won 93 seats. PTI supported MPs created a ruckus after the new Parliament session was called in Pakistan. Amidst all this, Shahbaz was chosen as the candidate for the post of PM. Now Shehbaz Sharif will be administered the oath of office as Prime Minister at Rashtrapati Bhavan Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday. Shehbaz served as the Prime Minister of the coalition government from April 2022 to August 2023, before the Parliament was dissolved to hold general elections in Pakistan. (PTI)
