Jerusalem: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister has said that it will not normalize relations with Israel or contribute to the re-establishment of Gaza until the path is cleared for the establishment of a Palestinian state. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud made this statement in an interview with CNN broadcast late on Sunday night. This is one of the most outspoken statements ever made by Saudi officials. Farhan’s statement may sour relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has rejected the possibility of recognizing the state of Palestine.

Netanyahu’s stance is creating problems

Benjamin Netanyahu has also outlined a plan for open military control over Gaza. The dispute over the future of Gaza is pitting the US and its Arab allies against Israel. Netanyahu’s current stance could pose a major hurdle to any plan for post-war governance or reconstruction in Gaza. Farhan has given the statement at a time when the war is still going on and there is no end in sight at the moment. Let us tell you that on October 7, Hamas had suddenly attacked Israel and killed about 1200 people, most of them were civilians.

Thousands of Palestinians have been killed in the war

Israel has been continuously bombing Gaza since the attack on its citizens, in which thousands of Palestinians have died. According to the report of Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 25,000 Palestinians have been killed in the war that has been going on between Israel and Hamas for more than 3 months. According to the United Nations, women and children suffer the most in the Israel-Hamas war. Meanwhile, family members of dozens of people taken hostage by Hamas in Gaza entered Israel’s Parliament on Monday during a meeting of the Finance Committee. The angry family members said, ‘You (MPs) cannot hold a meeting here when they (the hostages) are dying there.’ (Language)
