Police officials said on Saturday, ‘7 years after the death of a young man in a private hospital in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, the police have arrested 4 doctors for negligence in treatment. However, later all the doctors were released on bond.

Police officials said that seven years after the death of a young man from Bilaspur in Apollo Hospital, the police on Friday arrested four senior doctors of Apollo Hospital on charges of negligence in treatment and destroying evidence. Officials said the doctors were later released on bond.

He said that action will also be taken against the hospital management in this matter. Police officials said that on December 26, 2016, police had received information from Apollo Hospital in Bilaspur that Goldie alias Gurveen Chhabra (29), a resident of City Kotwali police station area of ​​the city, had died in the hospital after consuming poison.

Police officials said that after getting the information, the police had registered the case. He told that during the investigation of the case, the family members of the deceased Goldie had accused the Apollo Hospital management and the concerned doctors of negligence and wrong treatment and had registered a case in this regard. Police officials said that after the complaint of the family members, the post-mortem of the body was done at Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) in Bilaspur.

Police officials said that the report of Divisional Medical Board, Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur revealed negligence on the part of Apollo Hospital management and concerned doctors during the treatment of the youth. He said that in this matter the report was received from the Medico Legal Department of the State Government on 27 September 2023. He said that in the report the experts have mentioned different points regarding negligence by the doctors and the hospital management.

Police officials said that on the basis of police investigation and the investigation report of the medical board expert, the police registered a case against Dr. Devendra Singh, Dr. Rajeev Lochan, Dr. Manoj Rai and Dr. Sunil Kedia and arrested all of them on Friday. All of them were released on private bond. He said that investigation is being done regarding the negligence of Apollo Hospital management and other doctors in this case. (input language)
